BODYPUMP 50

CELEBRATE GOODTIMES BODYPUMP 50 STRONG:

Kate Ryan and Nick Skitz and Sugarbabes are the featured artist from this introduction and celebration of Bodypump now 50 releases strong. This is the celebration of Michaels massive weights class.

KATE RYAN

Kate Ryan has now been featured in two Bodypumps each time she has featured as track 1 warmup. Must admit Kate Ryan is now my favorite warmup in the 50's series of Bodypump, it is one awesome song.

Nicks style is much like groups like Jet - Nickleback. He has defined the heavy trance and heavy urban scene for a whole generation of people that enjoy his music. Slave to the music was released in 2004. He has created a whole form of self styled music that appeals to all. Hopefully Mike would use his music more in Bodypump.

SUGARBABES

Sugarbabes make their debut in Bodypump 50. They have been heavily featured in Bodybalance a program choregraphed by Dr Jackie Mills.

BODYPUMP 52:

PRAY FOR REST WITH BODYPUMP 52:

The fifties series of Bodypump has been exceptional no more than with release 52. This release brings a old favorite back Phantom of the Opera and a return of Emma Shaplin from the awesome release 31 which is a classic Bodypump.

Included is a review of three of the artists and also song release details and artists and general information on each artists contribution to Bodypumps music legacy.

Enjoy!

Featured Artists:

V / Voodoo & Serano

Voodoo and Serano make their first appearance in Bodypump 53. The track simply is awesome and in my viewpoint is a massive squat track and one the highlights of the release. The song is from their massive CD Back For More - Cold Blood (The Collector's Edition) which is a standout. Blood is Pumpin' is a standout track from that release. Squats would never be the same again. The group is a hard trance act and their music has made massive gains on the dance floors of Europe. This current track was number on the euro dance charts and now makes it appearance in Bodypump 52.

Anastasia

Anastasia comes back to Bodypump she made her debut in Bodypump 36 with the massive Chest Track I'm outta Love. Then in 41 she Paid Her Dues with the wicked ab track. Then in 43 she was ripped our abs into shape with One Day in Your Life. Then in in Release 52 she is back again and ripping our abs apart with Left Outside Alone. Anastasia's single went all the way to number one in Australia and was No 2 on the top 100 singles of 2004 for this artists. Her single spent 6 weeks at number one. It is from her self titled CD Anastacia via Sony International. I don't think we have seen the last of her in Bodypump hopefully.

Ian Van Dahl

Ian is a massive artist in Europe his first appearance was in BP 47 where Castles in the Sky was a huge lunge track. This time he is back and with the lunge track in BP 52. It is taken from his self titled CD Ian Van Dahl. His music is heavy trance it is also featured on Dream Dance Vol. 31 CD 1 of which two tracks from BP 53 are featured.

Added English Lyrics for track 10 enjoy:

Emma Shapplin

Carmine Meo

Verdi Maria (English Translation.)

Between the branches
Dawn just hit my face And anger shows me yours Frozen In an arid winter Silence! Birds of horrorI shout with no tongue Silence! Love destroys me And my sun has lost its way And I have no wish to wage war

See, Marie See, Marie

l'm burning, even in winter And I would like to stop the chariot of stars Oh Madonna!

Jealousy is holding me prisoner And I see Without eyes This song hurts me no more And I run, barefoot, among the brambles

I wait, and cannot find peace Oh how I wish I could perish, I often shout But I can neither live with Nor live without such a gentle ghost

What is this, if not love? What is this, if not love?

See, Marie See, Marie Madonna, come save me

The main objective of the program was to get men into the aerobics room.

Bar is placed in front of the body. Arms are at slightly wider than shoulder width. Both hands are holding the bar facing forward.

This position takes some time to master. Once correct you are guaranteed of a safe and effective workout in your BODYPUMP sessions.

KNOW YOUR LIMITS KEEPING IT SAFE

These are some guidelines for you to remeber doing the class.

Track 01:

Light weights only.

Track 02:

If you fatique there is nothing wrong with taking the bar off and resting or continuing without the bar. Remember it is your workout and you know your limits.

Track 03:

If you are fatiqued remove the bar completly. We don't want you not to be able to safely remove the bar. Keep the weights light. Rest if you need to, it is your workout.

Track 04:

If you have a medical condition or have kyphosis or lordosis then you need to take extra care in this track. Keep the weights light at all times. If you suffer back pain please stop and rest. Do not proceed with the rest of the class.

Track 05:

Smallest muscle small weight selection as for chest if you fatique then you need to stop rest a-while then if possible continue with the class. If you are not able to do triceps pushups then there is nothing wrong with doing then on your knees. The advanced options will come in time.

Track 06:

As above.

Track 07:

Options, options, options is the key word. No weights are acceptable for this exercise if you need to strip back to no weights then this is the prefered option. You can also do it with plates, and with the bar placed in front of you, or the bar between the legs. Use the options and vary the workout all times.

Track 08:

Lightest weights all times iof needed. There are options for plates and bar work. If the track seems a buzy one then use the plates so that you can transition safely. If you notice the track is less busy then the bar is an option. If you have fatiqued then you can do the workout with out weights or simplyb rest and pick up when you can latter on. In the case of the pushups down on the knees or simply do every second pushup if they do 16 bring it down to 8 and rest in between. It is your workout not ours.

Track 09:

No weights use the options asked for by the instructor.

Track 10:

Stay for this and do the cooldown maximising all the options. If you know you have linited ROM (Range of Motion - Movement.) then you may need to work your min options and talk to the instructor or trainer for options you can use. If you have accelerated medical issues then follow options presribed by your doctor or physiotherapist.

HOW MANY CLASSES SHOULD I DO A WEEK?

You should do 3 classes in a typical week.

Reasoning is to allow the body to repair.

You should also incorporate other Les Mills programs into training schedule Body Jam - Attack - Combat - Balance - RPM - Step.

THIS IS BODYPUMP (INSIDE OUT.)

Bodypump has 10 tracks each track has several exercises that make up the entire hour of exercise.

Below are some general guidelines for a typical BODYPUMP class I have picked up over the last 8 years of doing and instructing in BODYPUMP.

I was trained on BODYPUMP Release 38 in 2001.

I have been doing BP since mid 1998.

Track 01:

Is the warm-up track this is where you are introduced to some of the exercises that maybe coming up in the class. Michael usually places a few of the suprises for the class in this section. For example BP 38 Arnold Press - re-enters the class in shoulders in Paffendorff's awesome shoulder track "Where are you." Outstanding :)

Track 02:

This track is the lunge track. This track is one of the longest and has Squats as its centerpiece exercise. We have full range and half range Squats in this part of the class. Mixed with slow mo single squats geared down a notch by Michael and his awesome choreography.

Fact:

Bodypump is based in Resistance Training Method incorporating Matrix Principles of Training in Bottom and Top Halve exercises within the structure of the whole entire program.

Track 03:

This is the chest track. People make huge mistakes with this one. Elbow’s coming lower than the anticipated height of the bench. Not placing enough bricks underneath the bench. The chest track incorporates Top and Bottom Halves in the class. Michael sometimes uses Pushup's in this track so better practice them regularly. So when classes come up with then you are well prepared for them.

Track 04:

Is the centerpiece of the first part of the class. This has some of the most awesome music ever. E-Type for starters. The backtrack has deadrows, deadlifts, clean and press, with singles and triples playing their way throughout this exercise period.

Track 05:

Triceps are worked over in this selection of exercises. Michael usually has triceps press and triceps extensions. Incorporated is fly’s, french press, triceps extensions standing, and triceps pushups. Practice these and make sure that you can do these as Michael does incorporates then sometimes in a releases.

Track 06:

Is biceps one of the centerpieces of the program Michael has structured the class so that you get the best benifits in the shortest time usually 4 mins long. The exercise incorporates top and bottom halves biceps curls and also occasionally biceps retractors as well.

Track 07:

Lunges are the order of the business in this track. Michael has some awesome scenarios in this exercise section. From Hip Flexors, Power Lunges. He also has typical lunge selections of top and bottom halves lunges. Incorporated in some of the releases are squats at the end of the track. He also places Clave Raises as well into some of the releases as well.

Track 08:

Shoudlers are the hardest part of the class. This is because of the isolation movements associated with this part of the class. In this part of the class he has pushups, side raises, lateral raises, upright rows, forward raises and shoulder presses. An awesome part of the class and the most challenging to all.

Track 09:

This is abs simple but complex, reverse crunches, pelvic tilts, oblique work and hovers are some of the tools of the trade to whip those abs into shape.

Track 10:

Cooldown is the most important part of the class. This is where you chill and bring the body back home. Michael takes you through PNF stretches and elongates the muscles. The whole idea is to to re-align the z and h lines and flush the muscles of lactic acid. This helps in the recovery process.

SO STAY FOR THE COOLDOWN YOUR BODY WILL NEVER REGRET IT!

WEIGHT SELECTIONS FOR BODYPUMP?

BODYPUMP has 10 tracks of awesome music set to pre-choreographed exercises choreographed by Michael J Mc Sweeney who with Plillip Mills in 1992 created BODYPUMP who also co-created BODYATTACK with Donna McCourt and created BODYATTACK Release 1.

TECHNIQUE TECHNIQUE TECHNIQUE

Technique is important in any new class no more that in Bodypump. There is so much to understand and get to know if you are a newbie so enquire at your local gym for technique classes.

If your gym does not have technique classes you may have to bring this up with Managment of the facility and ask them to do them.

Before each release it is important that gyms do a preview tech class for the up and coming release.

So when you attend the class you knows whats going on.

BACK TO THE HOME PAGE

WHAT TO BRING TO A BODYPUMP CLASS?

Only two things are needed before you come. A doctors clearance. Get the medical check before going to the class.

Bring a towel and also a bottle of water (hydration.) is important in any aerobic class. When the temps get high (in tropical climates and in the midst of winter.) you need to replenish your bodys store of water.
